Hopper Fishing At It's Best!!!

I hope this newsletter finds you doing well. As I anticipated the fishing this past month has been unbelievable to say the least as you can see by the recent photos. If you talk to anyone who has fished with us they will tell you that it was the best top water fishing they have ever seen. We have been hooking 40 to 50 fish a boat just on hoppers. I had a single angler yesterday in my boat and he fed 50 plus fish and only threw grass hoppers all day. The takes have resembled great white sharks eating seals on shark week. The average size fish we have been tangling with has been around 19 to 20 inches with many fish reaching the 2 foot long mark. Nymph fishing has still been consistent. We have been using leeches, San Juan worms, caddis larva, and yellow sally and pmd nymphs. If it is the really big fish you are after streamers are the way to go. We have also done several streamer trips recently with great success. The water is really clear and still running at 3,000 cfs so the fish are hammering big bugs stripped off the banks. I have been fishing this river for a really long time and i have never seen anything like the fishing we are having right now. I expect that the hopper fishing will still be great through the middle of September. We also are getting some great trico hatches in the mornings. This will continue for another good month or so. With the high water we haven't seen the fish really keying in on the tricos on the surface. The river is scheduled to run at 3,000 cfs until the end of September. At that time the Bureau Of Rec. will drop the flows to 500 cfs until next April. That means that we will have more epical fishing from October clear through the winter. I want you all to be able to experience this unbelievable experience so we will be offering $300 full-day float trips until the end of the month. Check your schedules and get ahold of us soon as our calendar for the rest of the month is pretty full. September we will be going back to our normal $350 trips. We have been booking trips for the fall everyday and it looks to be a real busy September through November. This is an unbelievable deal for a trout fishing trip on the finest trout fishery in the country! I promise you will be amazed! If you wish to wade fish or float on your own you can still utilize our lodging. Our cabins sit right on the banks of the fabulous Gray Reef section of the North Platte River. Lodging availability is limited so check your schedules and calendars for the fall and book your cabin reservations soon. Thank you for checking out our site and your continued support! We greatly appreciate it! We look forward to hearing from you and having the opportunity to providing you with the fishing trip of a lifetime. Give us a shout soon if we can help you plan a trip.

I had the opportunity to take a couple days off and go on a long hike up into the Big Hron Mountains with my brothers and a friend of our's to try our luck at the rare Golden Trout. The 36 mile hike was rough but well worth it! I included a couple pictures that i thought you might enjoy. Take care, keep in touch, God Bless and let's go fishing!
