Best Trout Fishing I have ever seen...

In all of the 18 years I have been fishing the North Platte River and fishing in general, I have never seen fishing as good as we have experienced in the past couple of months. From time to time we have had a chilly day or two but catching the size of the fish we have been and the numbers of fish, it is definitely worth it! Two days ago we touched near if not 100 fish! In this trip there were only 2 fish under 17 inches.

Our rigs haven't changed a whole lot. We are still fishing leeches, eggs, rock worms, and midges. The Rainbows have started spawning so PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, be careful and don't fish the shallow riffles where these fish are reproducing. This is a wild fishery and we depend on the natural reproduction to ensure that we will have continued amazing trout fishing for years to come. If you see a cleared off spot in the gravely areas in running current in water that is less than 3 feet deep please stay back and let the fish do their thing. This area is called a redd and this is how you can tell where you shouldn't be fishing for the next couple of months. We all who enjoy this resource appreciate your courtesy. From now until the end of March we are offering $300 float trips. We also have the only public lodging on the famous Grey Reef. The cost for 2 angler for a nights lodging and a fully guided full-day float trip including your lunch, drinks, flies, and fishing equipment is only $387.50.
