Winter Trout Fishing At It's Finest!!!

I have had the opportunity to guide fishing trips ever since Christmas with the exception of the time we were at the Fly Fishing Show in Denver and I have not seen another boat on the river. We have caught and landed at least one giant measuring over 23 inches, hooking several others, and also landing over 30 fish per boat nearly every time with a 19 inch average. Needless to say the fishing has been outstanding! We have also had great weather. Only 2 trips have we had any wind and chilly temperatures. Beieve it or not this is normal for our area this time of year. With great weather and no pressure on the river we are definitely getting spoiled and are off to a great start to 2010. Our set-ups have been as follows: 9 ft. leaders, 0.6 g's of weight, brown and rust colored leeches, orange scuds, rock worms, and brown and black midges. The key is not spooking the fish and getting a great drift. The water is cold and clear and the fish are spooky! We have been staying in close and fishing out towards the deeper water. This is important because if you run over the run and the fish you will ruin the run for yourselves and any others who are fishing it. Just remember... you can always move out deeper but if you run over the fish the first time down the run you've blown it. I have been guiding this river for 16 years and in my opinion this is definitely the time of year to catch the fish of a lifetime. A lot of the biggest rainbows we have ever caught have been caught in February and March. I believe that the reason for this is that many of the brood stock work their way up the river to the Grey Reef where they will start spawning the middle of March. They are hungry and are in prespawn mode. Another main component is that the river is running at 500 c.f.s and the fish are more concentrated. The river flows go up in April and the fish spread out making it harder to pin-point their location. With this being said we have made a deal for you that will be hard to resist. From now until the end of March we are offering $300 float trips. We also have the only public lodging on the famous Grey Reef. The first class cabins sit only feet off the bank of the North Platte River. The cost for 2 angler for a nights lodging and a fully guided full-day float trip including your lunch, drinks, flies, and fishing equipment is only $387.50. The total price for 4 anglers will be $775. This is an unbelievable deal for a trout fishing trip with the most experienced guides on the finest trout fishery in the country! If you wish to wade fish or float on your own you can still utilize our lodging. Our cabins Lodging availability is limited so check your schedules and calenders for 2010 and book your cabin reservations soon. Thank you for checking out our site and your continued support! We greatly appreciate it! We look forward to hearing from you and having the opportunity to providing you with the fishing trip of a lifetime. Give us a shout soon if we can help you plan a trip. Take care, keep in touch, and God Bless!
