Construction Is Under Way!!!!

Jason and Nikki as construction begins.

Sorry folks it has been so long but hopefully you will understand. Nikki and I sold our house in town and have been building our new residence and fly shop out at Lusby on the river. Our Cabins will be hopefully finished by October and for the shop, well.... maybe in a month or so. Meanwhile we are staying where there is not much phone service and no computer access, so...... needless to say communication has been a bit of an issue. But anyway now with the good news. Fishing is surprisingly still pretty good. You can't expect spring or fall like numbers but you can still catch fish. I has been pretty hot and the river is starting to get mossy but September is just around the corner. Speaking of September, we do have a couple of days that are still not fully booked yet in September and October so check your calendars and come spend a day with us. If you enjoy streamer fishing and dry fly fishing you don't want to miss the opportunity to fish our river in September and October. Granted the spring fishing here is good but it is real hard to beat the fall here.
On the river the hot flies have been: Leeches in brown and black and an occasional hot head. Any sizes on the leech patterns. We are still fishing pmd nymphs along with yellow sally's and some caddis. Sizes have increased to 14's and 16's do to diminishing water clarity. Don't be afraid to fish a big pheasant tail either. Streamers have also been real good using black's, tan's, olive's, and brown's. I have also gone up on my streamers sizes to as big as you can chuck them.
It won't be long and the summer irrigation water will be getting shut off and the river flows will drop back down to around 500 cfs. This is scheduled to happen the end of August or first part of September and when it does the fish will again start looking up and eating trico's, pmd's, caddis, and also some bwo's will start showing up again. Till then, don't let the hot weather slow you down. Grab a water bottle and go fish!!!!!!!!
Here is some photos of the past month some here and some not. I apologize for not having all of the pictures but they are on my nonworking computer.
