Here Comes The Water!!!!!

Well, our water has finally returned. Tonight the Bureau of Rec. will be starting to increase our river flows from 500 cfs to 750 cfs and will go up every night 250 cfs until it reaches 2,000 cfs. Thank goodness. I was about to find a way to make money harvesting moss. The fish are still feeding and are easy to catch......before your flies get totally mossed over. Anyway, as you can see the fishing has still been real good. Streamer fishing is hot using just about anything ugly. We have been fishing a lot of black, brown, and rusty colors in the usual sizes 2-6. Nymph fishing has been real good but like I said a little tough with the moss. As long as you realize you are going to catch a lot of moss and have patience you will have a great day. Barr's PMD Emergers, Foam Split Backs (baetis and PMD), Hare's Ears, RMC's, and of course.... Rock Worms and Leeches. Nymph's size 18-20, Leeches size 6-8, and Rock Worms size 6-18. The further down river you get try the San Juan in wine or red. We are still running around 9 feet of leader but have really lightened up on the weight. Water conditions for the next couple of days might be kind of tough due to the flushing of moss but it will help push out the muddy water caused from last weeks rain and snow. In the mean time, tie some flies, get your stuff ready, book a float trip, and go watch a rodeo. Good luck Cowboy's and Cowgirl's at the CNFR this week in Casper. For those of you planning a fall trip throwing streamers and dry flies and the rivers biggest trout, check your schedules and get a hold of me soon as our fall availability is becoming limited. Take care everyone and have a safe and relaxing summer. Keep us in mind and give us a shout if you ever need anything. Cowboy Drifter sweatshirts should be in this week. Tight Lines and Let'r Buck!!!!!
