I Like Big Bugs and I Cannot Lie!!!!!!

When fishing big bugs ya never know whats going to happen??? With higher water and warming water temperatures we have been in search of the good ol' "Yellow Bellies". It is nice to have fisherman in the boat that are willing to sacrifice fish numbers for size or rather nymphing for streamer fishing. It doesn't always work out for the better, but when it does it is well worth it. Ask this young lady after catching this awesome BROWN while stripping streamers on Saturday (it was around 25 inches and fat). This big daddy brown trout ate a size 2 dumbbelled eyed black, Grim Reaper. With a name like that it ought to catch the fish for ya, huh!!!!
Regardless, that is one cool fish. Ya want to know the best thing though, this fish is awaiting the next BIG BUG to come by and with everyday that goes by the streamer fishing will continue to get better.
Well, enough about that fish. The fishing in general is still really good. The water is up to 1704cfs. The fish are starting to move toward the inside seams and spread out with increasing flows. You will need to add more weight to get down to the fish with the higher water as well.
There are plenty of fish in the main runs eating rock worms (size 8-16), leeches (size 10, Black, brown), and BWO's (size 18,20) so there shouldn't be anyone fishing the redds....Right??? I mean honestly, I don't pull you out of your bedroom when you are..... well you get the picture. So let us all leave the spawning fish alone and enjoy the wonderful river that God has put here.
Here are a few pics from the last few days. Great Job guys & gals!!!
It has been hard not guiding every day, unless the wind is blowing of course, but I have been able to do trips pretty much every weekend. I know I won't be able to see alot of you as much as I used to but it doesn't mean you are not missed. Thanks for your continued support. Hope to see ya soon!!!!! Preferably on the water and not the opreating table.
