Warm Temps. And Scalding Hot Fishing!!!
Who cares that is has been in the 70's the fishing is hot. With most of the ice gone off the banks now the flushing schedule is set for next week (March 19th-23rd.) Good thing too because this past weekend we started seeing several fish on the redds doing their deed. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, leave our spawners alone. Remember if you can see them and they are in less than 4 feet of water then they are spawning. Thank's to them we have a wonderful river that is full of non-stocked wild trout and for that we should let them be for their and our benifit. Like I said, fishing t
he past week has been steadily picking up. "Streamer Stu Tanner" caught the slam on Friday picking up a huge cuttbow and a pig brown to go along with his nice couple of rainbows and cutthroat. Meanwhile his son Henry nymphed away with rockworms (size 10-14), leeches (size 6), and lil' black midges (size 18-20) compiling a good number of hard pulling fish. Streamer fishing has slowed way down for some reason but you can still pick up a big fish looking for a big meal. Great thing about early season streamer fishing, It's very rare to catch a small fish. Mike Rempe was also able to catch a big cuttbow stripping a light collored streamer real slow through the deep runs. Nice fish Mike and look........NO WIND!!!!! Amazing folks but yes it does happen. I had my friends Matt and Angela Schenck out enjoying the weather on Sunday and we managed to catch a lot of fish and I mean A LOT of fish nymphing. Streamer action was slow but the big fish couldn't resist the rockworms. We didn't need any other
fly that day. Thank's for coming and letting us experience a great day of fishing with you. We appreciate your business and hope everyone who fishes with us enjoys their trip and takes home memories that will last a lifetime. We'll still see more snow but for us Spring is here. Get your rods out, dust em off, string em up, and LET'S GO FISHIN!!!!!!
