WHERE MY HOGS AT?

So, I know it has been a long time coming but in between my 18 credit hours of school, guiding full time, and spending time with my wonderful new wife I don't have a lot of spare time. So I will give you a quick run down. FISHING IS AWESOME!!!!!

We have had a bit of moisture in the past couple of weeks so we have had a couple days here and there where the water has been a bit colored. We have been able to catch fish those days, but it is the days inbetween where the water is good and clear that the magic happens. We have been streamer fishing mostly using browns, olives, and tans, but brown with yellow/orange rubber legs has been the most productive.

I will let you in on a little secret, the DRY FLY FISHING is back! The blue-wings are out-and-about and with the overcast days we have been having the big fish showing their noses. I had a friend/client of ours, Ray Rivera, who is a Cali boy get "tight" on at least 15 pigs on dries in one day. I have to give him props because, and this is no joke, he caught every fish he cast to on dries that day. The dude was on fire you could say. Another funny thing that happened on his recent trip was how this report got its name. We were coming down the home stretch of his last day of his week of fishing with us. We were coming up on some really good structure and with a great cast into the rubble and 2 strips of the fly Ray says, "Where my hogs at?", at that moment a HUGE, and I mean HUGE, fish came from the depths to claim his prize. Upon crushing the CD streamer (brown & gold), not more than 2 inches from the surface, the bow splashed the two of us as Ray was finishing his famous line in which I will never forget. Is all I could say was "He is right there", of course with some minor editing and facial expressions. So, needless to say it was a great way to top off Ray's trip and to give me some motivation to get my school done so I could get back on the river.

I do have to say that there is some excellent fishing to be done now until mid-November, so give us a jingle. Try to plan ahead because we are booked up pretty solid, but would love to fit you in.

Fish bum for life,

Mark

The fish ended up landing in the water, but check out his face. Funny stuff!!!
