Getting "tight" with Cowboy Drifters!!!!!!!

Well Just another wonderful week of fishing here in Casper. The fish are definitely in full spawn with the good ol rock work (size 14) and a tan midge (18-20) working really well. Fishing has really picked up here on the North Platte and it is any day now for our BWO's to start poppin. I have seen a couple stragglers but the BWO nymphs are getting super active. Little pheasant tails (16-18) and other BWO patters are working pretty darn good.

We have been also picking fish up in the deep runs with egg patterns (mostly chartreuse), but keep in mind you don't have to fish the redds this time of year to catch fish on the egg.

Please leave the spawners alone especially the fish on the redds. There are plenty of fish in the main runs. Fish also spawn in deeper water sometimes if the river structure is right so be aware of that also. It is up to us guides to educate other fisherman of the importance of this issue. We don't have to be rude about it to others but we can be tactful and educational on informing people that are fishing spawners.

Here are a couple of our father-son, father daughter teams and friends that have enjoyed the Cowboy Drifter experience and some other fisherman friends that have enjoyed lots of tight lines too. Don't hesitate to give us a call and come catch some huge fish like these yourself.

See ya on the river,
Mark Hamrick
